Adolescent Treatment Program The Adolescent Treatment Program is a foster care based comprehensive treatment program that has been providing individualized treatment programming for youths and their families since 1978. The ATP at TSA is an incredibly effective model of service delivery.
The Adolescent Treatment Program is a
foster care based comprehensive treatment program that attends to
the unique needs of clients with a multitude of issues. We are
experienced in working with youths and their families with a myriad
of mental health, chemical health challenges, family issues, and
childhood trauma experiences. Many of the youths we work with have
experienced their families’ need for Child Protection Services. We
consider our client: the youth and their family and welcome,
encourage and invite family involvement in the treatment experience.
Distinctive Characteristics of TSA's Adolescent Treatment Program
Client’s length of placement and participation in the treatment program at TSA is based on individual need and case plan.
Care and services are facilitated by
each youth’s Treatment Team, which includes their foster parents,
mental health professionals and practitioners providing
individualized services and their TSA Case Manager. The Treatment
Team meets weekly to coordinate treatment progress. One highlight of the Adolescent Treatment Program is the group skills sessions. During this structured group session, clients will learn, practice and apply essential social and friendship skills that will be reinforced throughout their ATP experience at TSA. Some skills include:
Groups offered are specific to age, gender, and based on client need.
The Milieu experience is a supervised and structured day activity that is designed to meet client need and provide opportunity to develop skills. The Milieu experience includes opportunities such as:
FAMILIES ARE INVITED AND ENCOURAGED
TO PARTICIPATE IN FAMILY THERAPY AND/OR SKILLS TRAINING SERVICES
WEEKLY. Home visits are an important part of the youth and
family’s treatment experience. We enjoy positive relationships with
parents/families and respect teens having family connections,
relationships and time together. Families are generally encouraged
to call their teen, visit, and work closely with the Treatment Team.
TSA has expanded its program opportunities to include a Partial Day Treatment Program during the summer for youth who would benefit from our services but whom do not require foster care placement. This wonderful Partial Day Treatment opportunity at TSA is designed to provide structure, skill development, and a fun memorable experience. Youth will participate in programming with an assigned peer group learning how to make friends, get along with others, problem solve, and demonstrate how to make responsible choices. The Partial Day Treatment includes the milieu experience and group experience.
