Teen Mother and Child Program The Teen Mother and Child Program is designed to help the adolescent who is pregnant or who is parenting a child. The program recognizes the special needs of the adolescent who has emotional and behavioral problems and is facing the challenges of premature motherhood. This specialized program is an adjunct to our Adolescent Treatment Program, following the same treatment principles as the ATP but serving a very distinct clientele: adolescent mothers and/or expecting adolescent mothers.
Like their peers in the ATP, our Teen Mom and Child
Program clients live in community based, licensed foster homes. This
program incorporates its multi-disciplinary Treatment Team approach
to meet the unique needs of teen moms and their children and
families whom are referred for treatment foster care. The Treatment
Team is comprised of foster parents, case manager, psychotherapists,
skills counselors, youth care staff, and school liaison. These
primary Treatment Team roles are crucial in the development of
individualized treatment plans for each client and their family,
while offered in a community based setting. Teen mom clients
participate in therapeutic
milieu
at TSA and are assigned to individual, family and group therapists
and/or skills workers as determined in the individual treatment plan
and with the input of referring worker and family. Services provided
