Full Family Foster Care A special type of service at TSA is the Full Family Foster Care Program. This program offers community based foster care placement for adult mothers and their child(ren) in a TSA foster home. The Full Family Foster Care Program is designed to eliminate the need for separation of child(ren) and mother when the need for county intervention and assistance is required due to parenting issues present, conditions of home environment do not meet the needs of the children in the home, or when the family is experiencing homelessness. Placing parents and children together in a foster home allows for the parent to receive on-site supervision, parent coaching and mentoring from foster parents. Services Provided to Full Foster Care Program
Skill sets such as attunement, attachment, understanding developmental stages of infants and children, and managing multiple stressors while parenting (balancing life, school, work, child) are just a few examples of the focuses with Full Family Foster Care parents. Our parent clients are the primary care providers for their child(ren); foster parents are expected to monitor progress of the clients in the Full Family Foster Care Program with respect to the development and encouragement of parenting skills.TSA foster parents, along with treatment staff, also work to provide an array of opportunities with independent living skills and parenting skills that range from money management to cooking, employment searching to learning about development in children.
